Migraine Headache
Dehydration Migraines
Our bodies are made up of 75 % water and blood is
normally 94 % water. Water is the life giving medium for virtually every
process in our bodies. Therefore, a simple lack of water, dehydration,
is a major cause of headache. Alcohol, air travel, and summer sports
activities can act as migraine triggers. For more information on dehydration migraines, read Causes
Of Migraine: The Numbers Never Diminishes.
What Triggers Headaches and Migraines?
Though not fully understood
yet, many factors can cause or contribute to headache. Triggers include
foods, chemicals, bright lights, lack of sleep, stress, sinus problems,
crying, excess noise, and hormone fluctuations. We're always trying to
identify headache and Migraine triggers in the hope of avoiding as many
of them as possible. Dehydration is a known trigger and perhaps one of
the easiest to avoid. Summer heat increases the risk of dehydration
causing daily headache, vascular headache and sudden headache. So, one
must be more careful during the summers.
Migraine headache is a
sign of water needed by the brain and the eyes. It may totally clear up
if dehydration is prevented. Dehydration migraines might eventually cause inflammation of the back of the eye and
possibly cause sight problems. Pinpointing headache triggers can greatly
help in treatment and prophylaxis. See your headache specialist for
evaluation and to cure headache if there is constant headache even after
enough intake of water.
