Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinuses or swelling of the sinus lining. Some times sinuses get filled with mucus which is secreted by the immune system as a reaction to allergens or on account of infection by bacteria, virus and germs. Sinusitis may be either acute or chronic.

Asthma and sinusitis are both manifestations of allergic reactions of the human body. Allergic reactions occurring in the chest, are known as asthma and reactions occurring in the nose and sinus regions are referred to as sinusitis.


What Is Post-traumatic Sinusitis?

Post-traumatic sinusitis develops in certain individuals as a reaction to a traumatic condition  that they may have experienced in the recent past.  The trauma may be a physical one, like a head injury resulting in skull fracture or an emotional one, such as a parent’s divorce or loss of a loved one.
