Peppermint and Its Health Benefits There are many medicinal benefits of consuming peppermint (in almost any form). Apart from aiding in digestion (irritable bowel syndrome), treating gallbladder or biliary tract disorders, flatulence, intestinal colic, and non-ulcer dyspepsia, peppermint is also effective in treating headache. To get the best results, you are advised to prepare a mix of peppermint oil with extra-virgin olive oil. The preparation would give you far better results. Sipping Peppermint Tea: While sipping peppermint tea is advantageous if you are suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, it can also help treat headache. Inhale the vapors coming out from the peppermint leaves. This would work from the inside and help you get rid of tension headache.
